Nabe: Japanese treat for freezy winter

So the news is, I am already in my new house in Tsukuba :’D
And what funny is, November Snow in sudden coming and welcoming me. It was the first time after 54 years :’D and it was quite heavy snow

Well, of course it was a total mess! My stuff still in the boxes, and while moving out home is drain your wallet for sure. But I am hungry, I need warm delicious foods and it should be cheap also!
Tada!!! Thanks there is nabe!

Well, it is very easy actually. You just need to boil your favorite vegetables into a pot.
Basically, nabe is “communal foods”, you eat this together with your family, friends, colleagues, while warming up your body around the nabe 😀

So for me, just like any other Japanese foods, it is “too light” compared to foods in my country (Indonesia).
But it becomes awesome because you eat this when the temperature is cold and you eat this together with nice people.

Hmmm… so how to make it?
Very easy….
While I really love kimchi, so I made kimchi nabe. You can make it by yourself home.

Soup Base

  • Dashi stock (or any broth stock you have)
  • Kimchi
  • Soy sauce

  • Any meat if you love it (and if you have it :p), anw salmon also delicious!
  • Cabbage
  • Carrots
  • Mushrooms
  • Garlic chives
  • Tofu
  • Basically you can put anything inside 🙂

Then you just need to put the ingredients to the soup base and boil it!
Tadaaaa…. happy nabe-ing.
And keep warm 😀
